BBC Three

This is just a quick note to those of you who have missed a great opportunity that I had recently, to bring new life to some older pieces. I was invited by BBC Three to work with a great team of content developers and create videos for two of my poems. We decided that the two poems we would record were ‘Tap, Tap, Tap’ and ‘Broke vs Broken’.

These videos were uploaded by the BBC two weeks, and have since had hundreds of thousands of views between them. It is humbling to have had such a strong response to work, particularly where people have felt that the poem gave a voice to an issue that they couldn’t have. The two poems and a brief introduction can be found below, I’d love your opinion on them.

Tap Tap Tap

Tap Tap Tap tells of my experience with undiagnosed ADHD in school, it is not a shot at my teachers, who I know at times struggled with me, it is a reminder to all teachers and all students that people with ADHD can achieve and should be supported towards achieving.

Broke vs Broken

This poem is not an indictment against wealthy people, it is acknowledgement that some people within our society feel that having, or being born into privilege makes them better that others. I am well aware that there are plenty of people with money who do not feel like it makes them superior. This poem isn’t about them.

If you like what you’ve seen, share these videos with a friend, maybe get my BBC Three content up to a million views!
