Apple Cinnamon Crumble Bread

Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature

3/4 cup sugar

2 large eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups peeled and grated Granny Smith apples (about 2 medium apples)

1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, optional

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.

2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.

4. Stir in apples and nuts (if desired). Add flour mixture to wet ingredients, stirring just until combined.

5. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.

6. Remove bread from pan and place on a wire rack to cool.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature

1 cup sugar

2 large eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

3 cups peeled and grated Granny Smith apples (about 3 medium apples)

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 cups peeled and grated Granny Smith apples (about 2 medium apples)

2. In a small saucepan, bring raisins and water to a boil. Remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes.

3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in apples and raisins (with water). Add flour mixture to wet ingredients, stirring just until combined.

5. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.

6. Remove bread from pan and place on a wire rack to cool.
